I can’t tell you how excited I am to release the Uptown/Downtown Dress Expansion Pack!! When I first designed this dress my goal was to make it as versatile as possible with LOTS of design options! I was able to do that with the initial release of the pattern, but today my vison for The Uptown/Downtown Dress is in it’s full fruition with even MORE design options.
I think — by the end of the series it will bring this dress to a total of TWELVE or more design options, and that doesn’t include the liberties you as the sewist take on this pattern. Which I strongly encourage!!
For those of you who have already purchased the pattern, I have made some small modifications to it but this expansion can still be used on the original version. If you have the ability to re download it from MY SHOP or Etsy, please do so. If not feel free to contact me for an updated version providing me with your proof of purchase — screen shot of receipt, PayPal email, invoice number at sewstraightandgather(at) gmail(dot)com.
In order to use these extra pattern pieces you must already have the Uptown/Downtown Dress Pattern which you can purchase in MY SHOP or ETSY. And from November 3rd – November 8th for the release series it will be 20% off!!! Discount will already be applied. Now I must say–that is a good deal. On top of the already versatile pattern I have designed five more pattern pieces to either change the original pattern or add to it. I will also have a bonus modification tutorial in the middle of the week! So the first pattern expansion is the “Cool Cowl”. I live in a colder climate here in Canada and as we head into winter I wanted to warm up this pattern a bit with the cowl. But even more than that I just LOVE cowls–period– on anything really. I feel they give an air of sophistication and coziness or a splash of color as seen in my version.
You can find and download the “Cool Cowl Pattern & Instructions” at the end of this post. It comes in the same sizes as the Uptown/Downtown Dress — 2yrs to 10yrs and has layered capabilities (so you can print the size you want). At the end of the series I will be packaging up all the expansion pattern pieces into one file and posting it in my shop for FREE!! But for now you will be able to download each expansion each day for the next five days individually. Just “click” on the pattern instruction image and download!
All the knit fabric used for this dress was purchased from L’oiseau Fabric (some prints may not be available but there are tons to choose from) — The best!!
I am soooo excited to see what you make!!! Happy sewing!
